Our mission towards healthy, plant-based textiles is rooted in personal history. After the mother of our founder, Michel, was diagnosed with cancer, her sensitive skin became a source of irritation, especially when spending time in bed. The doctor determined that her bedding was the culprit. This drove Michel and his partner Misa to find a solution.

During a trip to Japan, they learned about the ancient tradition of Indigo dyeing, known as AIZOME. Collaborating with a team of scientists, they developed an innovative method to unlock the benefits of plant-based dyeing for home textiles. In 2018, AIZOME launched their first collection, quickly gaining recognition in media outlets like Forbes, Fast Company, and The Independent.
